MEDIA RELEASE: Celebrate the Battleship Wisconsin’s 78th on April 16

 

Norfolk, Va. (April 14, 2022) — Join Nauticus for the Battleship Wisconsin’s 78th birthday! On April 16, 2022, enjoy live entertainment and performances, meet Wisconsin veterans and tour newly interpreted spaces, like Senior Officer’s Country! Additionally, guided tours such as Life in the Engine Room are now available for the first time since 2020. Visitors can grab a snack or treat in our front loop with Cast Iron Catering and Rita’s Italian Ice food trucks.

 

Battleship Birthday Programming Includes:

  • Newly interpreted interior spaces, including Senior Officer’s Country
  • Newly-opened guided Life in the Engine Room Tours – Add on ticket required
  • “Chat with a WisKy Vet” meet-and-greets
  • Family-friendly education demos and programming
  • WWII re-enactors on the Wisconsin’s historic fantail
  • 12 p.m.: Performances from Virginia Arts Festivals bagpipers on the bow
  • 2 p.m.: Listen to the Metro Band perform on the fantail

Where: Nauticus and Battleship Wisconsin at One Waterside Drive, Norfolk, VA 23510

 

When: Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: All general admission tickets are $15.95 for adults and $11.50 for children. Military adults and their children are invited to visit at a discounted ticket price. (Military tickets must be purchased at the Nauticus Admissions Desk. Full details here.) Members are free. Paid admission includes access to the Nauticus museum, special programming, and the Battleship Wisconsin.
