NORFOLK

The guided-missile destroyer Arleigh Burke is due home Wednesday from a six-month deployment, the Navy announced.

Highlights The guided-missile destroyer Arleigh Burke became the latest Norfolk-based ship to participate in Africa Partnership Station, providing maritime security training and other assistance to African nations. The ship’s crew also took part in Joint Warrior, a two-week exercise with NATO allies off the coast of the United Kingdom that emphasized nontraditional missions such as counter-piracy.
