The guided-missile frigates Hawes and Carr are due home today from a six-month deployment, the Navy announced.

Crew size 200 sailors on each ship

Location of deployment Caribbean, western Atlantic, eastern Pacific

Highlights The Hawes visited the Caribbean and western Atlantic on a counter-narcotics mission. The ship participated in several multi-national exercises with forces from Great Britain, Canada, Netherlands, France, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Colombia.

The Carr had a similar mission on its deployment. With Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 42, Detachment 8, and various U.S. Coast Guard detachments, the Carr operated in the eastern Pacific and the Caribbean. The ship sailed more than 34,000 miles and visited six countries.
