The Virginian-Pilot © May 1, 2009 The Navy’s newest guided-missile destroyer is scheduled to arrive in Norfolk today. The Truxtun is named after Commodore Thomas Truxtun, who was selected in 1798 as one of the Navy’s first six captains. Built by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems in Pascagoula, Miss., the ship will be homeported here, according to a news release. It has a crew of 276, led by Cmdr. Timothy Weber.
