Edson Location of deployment Mediterranean and Black seas Deployed date Aug. 10, 2008 Return date Feb. 28, 2009 Highlights The destroyer spent part of its cruise training and conducting security missions as part of a standing NATO contingent in the Mediterranean, along with ships from the British, German, Italian and Greek navies. The rest of the cruise found the ship in the Black Sea, doing security coordination and presence operations with navies from Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and reaching out to Georgia.
