Highlights: Although they expected to spend most of their deployment in the waters off Africa, the Gunston Hall's crew headed to the Caribbean after the Haiti earthquake and spent four weeks working to stabilize operations at Haiti's Killick Coast Guard Base and assist with relief efforts. Continuing to Africa's western coast, they worked with local partners to improve maritime safety and security. The vessel, based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, also served as the flagship for an exercise in the Mediterranean called Phoenix Express.
